DOXA High School Winter Retreat-Feb 1-3, 2019
“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever” Duet. 29:29
Does God have a special plan for my life? What is his will? If so, how can I know it? Where should I go to college? What should my major be? Is it God’s will that I date or marry this person? We each face these questions and an endless list of others in our life. Some have massive implications (like moving to another state for school) or others that are seemingly unimportant (which cereal to eat in the morning). At times the question of knowing God’s will can leave us feeling stuck at a fork in a road or leave us full of doubt and anxiety. So what does God say about his will for us? How to make decisions? How can we know his will for me?
Well, I believe God desires to lovingly direct and guide his people so that we can confidently live a life pleasing to him. Get ready for our first DOXA High School Winter Retreat in 2019, as we get away for a weekend from the busyness and distractions to pursue God together. We will explore this topic of God’s will with the aim to understand his purposes for our life and how to glorify him in all we do. We will worship, pray, learn and grow together. And of course, have fun!
DOXA youth ministry is pastor led, parent involved youth ministries. Our vision is to see disciples made for Jesus, through the glorious gospel. For this Winter Retreat, students from 9th-12th (high school) grade are all encouraged to come, along with friends. (Parents are welcome to come to camp, however it is not necessary).
The Refuge is a 300 acre property in Stockholm, WI with barns, cabins, hiking trails, a sledding hill. There are two separate bunk houses, extensive bathroom and shower facilities, a gymnasium, and game room. Our hope is this location will be context for fun, friendship, and for us to encounter Christ together.
Each family will be responsible for transportation to and from the retreat/camp. Students are encourage to carpool together.
